1. ROM: stands for read-only memory, contains hardwired instructions that the computer uses when it boots up, before the system software loads











2. CD-RL: stands for compact disc recordable they are blank discs that can record data written by a CD burnet

3. CD-RW: stands for compact disc re writable is a blank CD that can be written to by a CD burnet



4. DVD + RAM: is a dvd format wherein dvd-ram discs can be recorded and erased repeatedly but are only compatible with devices manufactured by the companies that support the DVD - RAM format
5. DVD -RW: short for DVD -Rewritable, a recordable DVD format similar to CD+RW or DVD +RW


6. DVD -R: short for DVD -Recordable, a recordable DVD format similar to CD-R

7. DVD +R: short for DVD +Recordable, a recordable DVD format similar to CD-R



8. T1: is a dedicated phone connection supporting data rates of 1.544Mbits per second







9. BIOS: is an acronym for basic input/output system, the built-in software that determines what a computer can do without accessing programs from a disc.

10. Format: is to prepare a storage medium, usually a disc, for reading and for writing
